Leah Laurenti is a singer / songwriter born and raised in Long Island, NY. Leah started singing and writing songs at a very young age. Her vocal style is jazzy and soulful with a smoky tone that lures you in to every performance.
Leah is best known for making it to “Hollywood” for seasons 10 & 11 of America’s hit show, American Idol. She made it to Hollywood both seasons with a "Yes" from all four judges, including Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. Although Leah did not “win” the show, she felt she won in many other ways just by being there. Her growth as a live performer was just beginning and Leah didn’t let anything stop her from continuing to live her dream.
After American Idol, doors opened and Leah was invited to sing The National Anthem for events such as the NY METS, LI Ducks, Rugged Maniac 5k, the Hampton Classic Horse Show, the NY Islanders and many others. Leah has also donated performances for many fundraisers & organizations such as, Stony Brook Hospital on the children’s floor going room to room singing for children and their families as well as the Ronald McDonald House charity, helping to raise money to build housing for families of children who are receiving long term care away from their homes.
In 2014, Leah released her first full length album. She started working on the self titled album with songwriting partner, Frank Anselmo, a fellow musician / songwriter. The two songwriters meshed their musical taste which consisted of 80’s rock, pop and country into an authentic original sound of their own. Leah went into this project with an open mind taking each session and each song one day at a time with the end result being an album full of honest songs with an honest sound. The lyrics and emotions are felt and make for a true heartfelt album. The team writes from the heart and express their feelings with each word and each note.
Prior to the release of the album she hit local venues around Long Island and NYC and was also invited to sing at Darryl Halls music venue “Daryl’s House” that year and in November of 2014 an official release party was held at Napper Tandy’s in Smithtown, NY where all the proceeds were donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
In 2019, Leah released another album “The Lost Files” which included songs off her first album, but highlighted songs that didn’t make it the her first album. You can find both albums on platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Reverb Nation & Sound Cloud.
After COVID -19 and the tragic events that took place globally, Leah started working on her next album. The first single of the album titled “Please” was released in the Fall of 2021.
Leah continues to perform at local venues, weddings, fundraisers & private events all over Long Island and NYC. You can catch her on Facebook or Instagram for live performances or visit her website for a show schedule or to see what’s new and exciting in Leah’s music journey.
Leah’s newest full length album is due to be released this Summer, 2025. A brand new collection of new songs written by Leah and Frank Anselmo. Together they have found new sounds and are both super excited about this net chapter of amazing music. Stay tuned…
